6 cups regular rolled oats
4 cups rolled grain(I use one pkg. Bob's Red Mill 5 Grain Rolled Cereal available at Macey's)
2 cups unsweetened coconut (Shangri-La has this)
1 1/2 cups raw wheat germ (I leave this out sometimes)
1 cup chopped almonds
1 cup chopped other nuts or seeds like pecans, sunflower, etc.
1 cup raw or brown sugar
1/2 milled flaxseeds (I leave this out if I don't have any)
Mix all together then pour on:
1/2 cup honey
1 cup water
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 cup coconut oil (other oil works if you don't have this, but it's particularly yummy with coconut oil)
3 teaspoons vanilla
Mix well. Spread on two cookie sheets. Roast in oven t 300 degrees for one hour, stirring and alternating pans every 20 minutes or so.
After it has cooled, stir in your fruit. Raisins, chopped dates, apple flakes, or other dried fruit. For not so healthy, mini chocolate chips or M&M's are a real favorite!
